Ideas to find your personal style.

Personal style is that touch or mark of your personality that you put in your attire, what makes it yours, what distinguishes you from others.

Knowing what you like and what you don't like is fundamental to find it and define it, so I recommend you to look around you and determine what you would like to wear and what is a resounding “no” either because it doesn't go with your personality or because you don't feel comfortable wearing it.

Here are some tips for finding your personal style.

Organize your closet:

Leave the clothes that you like and that make you feel good about yourself. Keep or store clothes that you haven't worn in the last 6 months.

Create a moodboard:

Stylists and editors use them, select images from magazines, runway shows, window displays, streetstyle, colors and textures, designers and fashion icons you feel an affinity with to determine what you would like to wear.

Know your body:

It is important to know what type of body you have (pear, apple, hourglass) if you are tall or short to visualize what you like that suits you best... for example if you are short wear pieces at the waist to lengthen your legs.

Use colors that highlight your skin and hair:

Look in a mirror and see if you have a cool, warm or neutral skin tone. For cool tones use blue, pink, violet, turquoise. If you have a warm tone use beige, terracotta, mustard, red... but let it limit you.

Use your creativity:

The key is to make several combinations with the garments you have and rely on accessories such as jewelry, bags and shoes to elevate and differentiate one outfit from another... it can help to look for inspiration on Pinterest or in the proposals that are in this blog.

Have “statement pieces”:

There are pieces that are a treasure, either by design, texture or color, do not be afraid to have a striking item that screams your name and make you stand out at a time when you want to stand out.
